Waialae is warm golden oak with a clean, even grain — the least surprising colour in the collection, and the reason it keeps selling.

Suited to. Whole-home remodels, Kahala-area houses matching existing oak trim, hard-worked family rooms. Golden oak is forgiving next to the beige and cream walls that most of Oahu's housing stock already has, and it does not fight with either dark or pale cabinetry.

Who chooses it. Owners laying a floor once and keeping it, and resale-minded sellers after something neutral rather than distinctive, where a strong colour narrows the pool of buyers.

Installing. Planks float and lock together, nothing is nailed or glued to the subfloor, and radiant heat below is approved. Rigidity in the SPC core is where the dent resistance comes from, HDPE underlayment is bonded on for quieter footfall and comfort underfoot, and staining and abrasion are handled by the FX2 Surface Protectant. Everything about the build is waterproof, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

In use. Golden oak is the easiest of these floors to match trim and doors to later, and being waterproof it can run straight through a kitchen or bath without a transition strip.

Format. At 5.2 mm the plank sits low, and because it floats there are no fixings into the subfloor. Boards measure 7.08 in by 47.64 in with micro-bevelled edges, and a carton covers 23.4 sq. ft.
