Grey Banyan is a mid-light grey with a soft, wide grain and low contrast — warmer than Maunakea, cooler than Makapuu.

Good for. Rooms that already have a lot going on: patterned tile, strong art, coloured cabinetry. A quiet grey floor is what stops those rooms from arguing with themselves.

Buyers. Renovators keeping existing feature finishes, and owners who want grey without the blue cast some greys carry.

The method. Grey Banyan is a floating install. Planks lock together and lie unattached on the subfloor, with no glue and no nails involved, and radiant heat below is approved. The core is rigid SPC, so it resists denting. The HDPE underlayment is attached in the factory, so it absorbs sound and adds comfort with nothing extra to lay. The FX2 Surface Protectant resists abrasion and repels stains. Waterproof, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

Worth checking. Greys read differently against warm and cool paint, and this one leans warm. Hold the sample against the wall colour you already have rather than against a white sheet of paper.
