Kahala is a balanced medium-brown that reads refined rather than dark, named for one of Honolulu's most polished neighborhoods. It is the colour customers land on when they want a wood tone without the weight.

Where it suits. Higher-end condo renovations, formal living and dining rooms: a mid-brown holds its own against white walls and big windows without closing the space in. It photographs well, which counts if you are staging or letting short term.

Who chooses it. Owners finishing one unit to a standard they mean to keep for a decade, and designers matching existing millwork.

Laying it. Kahala floats over a flat subfloor, no glue and no nails, and is approved to run above radiant heat. Denting is resisted by the rigid SPC core; the HDPE underlayment arrives already attached, absorbing sound and adding comfort underfoot without a separate pad to buy or roll; abrasion and staining are the job of the FX2 Surface Protectant. Waterproof throughout, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

Format. Planks run 7.08 in by 47.64 in at 5.2 mm, and the micro-bevelled edge reads as a fine seam rather than a deep groove, which is the detail that keeps a formal room looking finished instead of rustic. Wear layer is 20 mil.
