Kamani is chocolate with a red undertone and grain you can read from across the room, named for the shade tree planted along old Hawaiian shorelines.

Suits. Bedrooms and studies, where a dark floor is doing mood rather than daylight. It grounds pale walls and pairs with brass and cream rather than chrome and white.

Bought by. People replacing a dark hardwood they liked and do not want to argue with humidity about any more.

How it is fitted. Nothing gets glued and nothing gets nailed — Kamani clicks together and floats on the subfloor, and it is cleared for radiant heat underneath. Dents are the SPC core's problem and it is rigid enough to win. Quiet and comfort come from HDPE underlayment attached at the factory. Abrasion and spills meet the FX2 Surface Protectant first, which is where the stain resistance lives. Waterproof construction, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

Upkeep. The 20 mil wear layer is the part that actually takes the traffic, and it is the thickest single element in the surface. Stains sit on top of the FX2 finish rather than soaking in, so spills are a wipe rather than a project.

On paper. Boards are 7.08 in by 47.64 in and 5.2 mm thick, with a 20 mil wear layer, micro-bevelled edges and 23.4 sq. ft. to the carton.
