Monarch Maple is the palest gold here — a light blonde maple visual with a clean grain and almost no dark figure.

Where it earns its money. Small rooms, rentals and anywhere you want maximum apparent light. It is also the easiest colour to keep looking clean between mops, because dust does not contrast against it.

Bought by. Owners of dark condo interiors, and anyone who has lived with a dark floor and will not do it twice.

Fitting method. The planks float: they interlock with one another and are laid loose over the subfloor without adhesive or fasteners, and radiant heat below is approved. The SPC core is rigid and that is what resists denting. HDPE underlayment comes bonded to the plank for sound and for comfort. FX2 Surface Protectant provides the abrasion and stain resistance. Fully waterproof, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

One more thing. Because the underlayment is bonded to the plank rather than rolled out separately, the finished floor height is the 5.2 mm of the board itself — useful when you are trying not to trim doors.
