Metroflor – Sandy Beach – 200 Island Collection – Vinyl Plank Flooring

Sandy Beach is pale and sun-bleached — a blonde with clear grain lines running through it, lighter than Sakura and drier in tone.

Where it works. Beach houses, lanais that have been enclosed, and any room where the brief is bright. It is one of the few colours here that will not look dark against white walls.

The buyer. Vacation-rental owners, and anyone building a coastal palette around the floor rather than on top of it.

Installation. A floating floor throughout: boards join to each other and sit on the subfloor unattached, with no glue and no nails used at any stage, and radiant heat may run below. Dent resistance is provided by the rigid SPC core, sound absorption and comfort by attached HDPE underlayment, abrasion and stain resistance by the FX2 Surface Protectant. The construction is waterproof and FloorScore and Assure Certified.

For coastal houses specifically. Sand is abrasive and this is where a 20 mil wear layer earns its keep. The floor is waterproof, so wet feet from the beach are not a problem for the joints.

Board format. 7.08 in by 47.64 in, 5.2 mm thick, 20 mil wear layer, micro-bevelled edge, 23.4 sq. ft. per carton.
