Sunset is a light golden tan, smooth-grained and even, sitting a shade lighter and warmer than a standard oak.

Put it in. North-facing rooms and interior spaces that never get direct sun. A warm light floor is the cheapest way to make a dim room feel finished.

Who buys it. Condo owners on lower floors, and anyone furnishing in white and rattan.

To install. Sunset floats over the subfloor. The boards engage each other and nothing is glued or nailed down, and the floor is approved over radiant heat. Denting is handled by a rigid SPC core, sound and comfort by an HDPE underlayment already attached to each plank, and abrasion and stains by the FX2 Surface Protectant. It is waterproof, FloorScore and Assure Certified.

Also useful. It is FloorScore certified, which is an indoor air quality certification rather than a durability one — relevant if the room is a nursery or a bedroom that stays closed up.

Facts and figures. Boards are 7.08 in by 47.64 in, 5.2 mm thick, with a 20 mil wear layer and micro-bevelled edges; 23.4 sq. ft. per carton.
