Tamarind is a mid reddish-brown that changes noticeably from board to board, with knots and figure left in rather than sanded out. It is the most rustic red in the range.

Good in. Open-plan living, cabins and anywhere the floor is meant to look reclaimed rather than new. The variation means no two square metres repeat, which is the point.

For. Owners who find uniform floors flat, and anyone matching an older koa or mango furniture set.

Laying it down. Tamarind floats. The planks connect to one another and are not fixed to the subfloor at any point, glue or fastener, and radiant heat is permitted underneath. Its rigid SPC core is what makes it dent resistant; its factory-attached HDPE underlayment is what absorbs sound and adds comfort underfoot; its FX2 Surface Protectant is what makes it hold up to abrasion and stains. Ordering advice. With this much board-to-board variation, open several cartons at once and mix the planks as you lay them, otherwise the run can group light and dark. At 23.4 sq. ft. a carton that is easy enough to plan for.
